Hastings Round Table are proud to have donated funds to Ore Station Pocket Park- a great initiative to use an otherwise wasted plot of land.

Thursday 22nd September saw the official beginning of a project to completely rejuvenate an otherwise wasted bit of land right next to Ore Station.

This project, undertaken and orchestrated by In Spades CIC (of Hughenden Road Pocket Park fame, which they have already won 2 RHS Britain in Bloom awards for) will not only transform waste land into a beautiful communal space, but will also provide some much needed light and security to an otherwise dark stroll when using Ore station (especially in the winter).

The site itself has been very generously donated by Orbit, and has been granted all necessary planning permissions by Hastings Council. Just some digging to be done... which as you can see got started courtesy of McKimmie Construction and our Right Worshipful Mayor, Judy Rogers, making the first cut into the ground.

Best of luck to a very worthy community cause is what we say! ... we shall soon look forward to waiting for trains in Ore! To keep up to date, follow In Spades here ... www.facebook.com/OreStationPocketPark.
